Orange
represents Grains (bread, cereal, pasta, rice, crackers,
etc.) - They are still recommending FAR TOO MUCH of these
foods in your diet!

Green represents
Vegetables - They don't distinguish between the starchy
(sugary) veggies and the green, leafy kind. Sugar content
varies greatly depending on the vegetable, so this missed
the whole point when it comes to weight management and pancreatic
health!

Red represents Fruits
- Once again they don't distinguish between the very sugary
fruits and the ones with less sugar. Fruits should be minimized
in your diet, because they will add excess body fat if you
aren't careful.

Blue represents Milk
- They recommend low-fat or fat-free which is absolutely

Purple
represents Meat & Beans- This is INSANE! It would
take 6 POUNDS of beans to equal 8 ounces of animal-based
protein - and a 150 pound person needs a minimum of 1 pound
of protein a day! Why does it take so many beans to equal
enough bio-available protein? Because the protein is locked
in the cellulose (plant fiber) of the bean. Besides, beans
convert almost entirely to sugar in your system. They are
a TERRIBLE replacement for animal-based protein!

Yellow
represents Fats & Oils - This color band is so small
it's barely visible, which is unbelievable when some of
the most IMPORTANT nutrients you need in your diet are natural
fats and oils (like EFAs, unprocessed oils and animal fats).
Our
government has done the most bizarre thing by coming up
with a grand total of 12 pyramids! This
is appalling! Nutritionally, we ALL need exactly the SAME
thing! All of the information you need to make the smartest
food choices can be found here at this website! You don't
need to waste your time figuring out which of the 12 pyramids
fit you!
Also,
they've included exercise as a part of these new pyramids.
Since when is exercise a food group? Granted, exercise is
important, but it just seems strange that it should be included
in the food pyramid.
