"For
a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations,
for nature cannot be fooled." Richard Feynman
Real
science is all I’m interested in, which is precisely why everything
on this website is fully referenced and explained. I’ve referenced
the major medical textbooks and scientific publications as well as used
direct quotes from world-renowned scientists as often as possible.
It is vitally important to me that people come to understand the truth
about health, nutrition and the science behind what they eat. I was
in the dark for most of my life, but once my education grew, I felt
the urgent need to get this info out to others as misled as I was. Please
do your own research and don’t take anyone’s word for what
is healthy and what is not! Most importantly, trust the science, not
someone’s opinion, even if they call themselves “experts”!
No
one wants to be suckered in by quack-science. But sadly, those criticizing
and warning us of "quacks" are confusing emerging alternative
methods, based on real science, with other methods that are not scientifically
based. So that leaves us with another thing to beware of. Not only do
we need to be careful of quack-science, we also need to be wary of those
blowing the horn on who they consider to be quacks. Seems anyone who
doesn’t follow the mainstream will eventually end up in the line
of fire.
Here’s a good example. A popular website called Quackwatch professes
to expose "quacks" in an effort to help the public be aware
and guard itself. But amazingly, this site has labeled some of the best
minds in science and medicine as “quacks.”
A list of distinguished scientists and doctors listed on Quackwatch:
• Linus Pauling – The Nobel Prize-winning,
top physical chemist of the 20th century.
• Otto Warburg – Winner of The Nobel Prize
and one of the world’s leading physiologists – often called
the greatest biochemist of all time.
• Dr. Andrew Weil, M.D., Newsweek’s “Man
of the Year” and proponent against harmful drugs.
• Dr. Robert Atkins, M.D., - who single-handedly
brought nutritional science into the modern age with his correct dietary
recommendations promoting weight loss.
• Dr. N.V. Perricone, M.D., - creator of the
cutting-edge anti-aging and acne cure that has helped millions.
• Dr. Diane Schwarzbein, M.D., - Founder of The
Endocrinology Institute of Santa Barbara and a leading authority on
metabolic healing.
• Prof. Brian Peskin, B.S.E.E., M.I.T., - Founder
of Life-Systems Engineering Science, renounced health lecturer, and
a leader in cutting edge nutritional sciences.
Many
of these distinguished doctors and scientists have suffered ridicule
throughout their careers because they don’t follow the mainstream,
pro-prescription-drug, low-fat, high-carbohydrate proponents. Quackwatch
is probably the most popular place for unsuspecting individuals to seek
out advice against quackery. The problem is, the very origins of Quackwatch
and it’s founder, are questionable. And as is obvious from the
list above, cutting-edge science that has helped millions, and could
help more, is being discredited -- causing many to go without the help
they need through alternative methods that work. Indeed, it could be
said that; if you aren’t listed by this
notorious industry mouthpiece your drug-free solution is probably invalid.
